Kema Sakuranomiya Park
Kema Sakuranomiya Park is a 4.2 km riverside park stretching along both banks of the Okawa River, lined with about 4,800 cherry trees including Somei Yoshino, Yamazakura, and Satozakura. With its riverside paths, it’s ideal for walking and jogging. On the right bank are early Meiji-era buildings such as the Japan Mint—famous for its “Cherry Blossom Passage (Sakura no Torinuke)”—and Senpukan, and the park becomes especially crowded during cherry-blossom season (typically late March to mid-April). Food stalls also appear during this period. The park area includes many attractions, such as the river beach “Osaka Fureai no Mizube,” “Sakuranomiya Baseball Ground,” and “Fujita Estate Ruins Park,” which features a Japanese garden. There is also a children’s play area with equipment such as a sandbox and horizontal bars, making it enjoyable for a wide range of ages. Many boats—water buses, traditional yakatabune, and motorboats—travel the Okawa River, and they can be watched from within the park. Admission is free, and the park is open at all times.
