We have prepared three unique and rare courses that allow you to actually experience traditional Japanese culture.
◆Samurai Course - something for the warriors among us
As part of the iaido experience, you will be taught how to hold and swing a mock Japanese sword and the basic forms of iaido. Next, you will try your hand at cutting paper with a real sword.
▼First, you will get to see a demonstration by the instructor. You can feel the tension.
▼After practicing with a wooden sword it is finally time to try the real blade, under gentle guidance of the instructor.
▼You can also try on the armor. If you wish, we will take pictures with your camera.
◆Explore your inner self and express yourself through the Calligraphy Course
In the Calligraphy Course, you can choose your favorite character from the calligraphy samples and actually write it on a half-sheet of paper with authentic ink.
Finish your work with a seal of your choice and take home your very own, unique piece of calligraphy.

Both the Origami and Calligraphy Course include a tea ceremony
Experience the process of grinding tencha, the original source of matcha in a stone mortar to make the powdered green tea.
Since the yield of powdered matcha grinding is modest, the matcha used in the ceremony is prepared in advance.
Pour hot water into the matcha and use a chasen to make it, then enjoy your own roasted matcha with chagashi Japanese confectionery.
