World Ranch
World Ranch (World Bokujō) is an interactive theme park in Kan’nan Town, Minamikawachi District, Osaka Prefecture, themed around “heartfelt interactions among people, nature, and animals.” Opened in April 1989 at the foot of Mt. Kongo, the park covers a total area of 400,000 square meters. Because it initially utilized the natural mountain terrain, the grounds had many slopes; however, in March 2016, the park was relocated to the mountaintop area and underwent a major renovation. As a result, the site became easier to walk around, and the variety of animals increased significantly. Today, about 1,500 animals and birds from roughly 140 species live here. The park offers horseback riding experiences and hands-on animal areas where visitors can interact with sheep, goats, donkeys, ponies, and more. It also includes outdoor barbecue areas and dining facilities serving items such as ramen and udon, as well as farm-style soft-serve ice cream. Visitors can also encounter rare animals, including the Percheron—one of the world’s largest horse breeds used in Banei horse racing in Hokkaido—the Flemish Giant, one of the world’s largest rabbits, and the Call Duck, one of the world’s smallest duck breeds.
