Entrepreneurial Museum of Challenge and Innovation
The Osaka Entrepreneur Museum is a museum opened in June 2001 on the basement level of the Osaka Industrial Creation Center in Honmachi, Chuo Ward, as a 120th-anniversary commemorative project of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The museum traces the achievements of entrepreneurs who were active with Osaka as their base. Exhibits introduce their dreams, struggles, and successes across three historical themes: “The Birth of a Modern Industrial City,” “The Formation of Mass Society,” and “The Formation of an Affluent Era.” The museum highlights 105 notable figures—including Konosuke Matsushita (founder of Panasonic), Shinjiro Torii (founder of Suntory), and Isao Nakauchi (founder of Daiei)—along with related artifacts. The facility consists of a Main Exhibition Area, a Special Exhibition Area, and a Library. In the main area, visitors can use free audio guides in four languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean. The museum also houses around 2,500 books such as autobiographies, biographies, and company histories, and offers manga booklets for elementary and junior high school students.
