Kuromon Market
Located in Nipponbashi, Kuromon Market is a historic market that dates back to the late Edo period. Its name is said to derive from the black temple gate of Enmyo-ji Temple, which once stood nearby.
The approximately 580-meter-long arcade is lined with about 150 shops selling fresh fish, produce, fruits, processed foods, and restaurants. Once a hub for chefs sourcing ingredients, it has evolved into a market where visitors from Japan and abroad can casually enjoy sushi, seafood bowls, grilled dishes, and seasonal fruits.In the summer, we recommend visiting in the morning to enjoy eating and shopping while strolling under the arcade.

Osaka Kizu Wholesale Market
With a history spanning over 300 years, the Osaka Kizu Wholesale Market is a privately operated regional wholesale market dealing in seafood, produce, and processed foods. It is known as a market where many chefs, including those from restaurants in Osaka’s Minami district, come to source their ingredients.
Inside the market, there are restaurants open to the general public where you can enjoy fresh seafood and breakfast dishes unique to the market.The “Kizu Morning Market” is held on the second and last Saturdays of every month. In addition to food sales, events such as auction experiences are sometimes held. Near the market, there is also a hot spring facility featuring open-air baths, so you can wash away the morning’s exertions and refresh yourself after enjoying the market.
