This is the hub for Sakai's traditional industries, and has a wide range of information on cutlery, chusen dyeing, incense, Japanese sweets, tea, and more.
Basic information
Sakai Densho Museum is a facility for exhibiting, selling, and experiencing Sakai's traditional industries. The TAKUMI SHOP on the first floor sells a wide variety of knives, dyeing, incense, and kelp to satisfy everyone from the average person to a chef, as well as Japanese sweets, tea, and soy sauce associated with Sakai. The 2nd floor is home to the Sakai Cutlery Museum CUT, which displays the history and manufacturing process of Sakai cutlery, knives for various purposes, and the HIBANA chandelier, made from materials from approximately 300 knives. The TAKUMI EXHIBITION is an exhibition room where you can learn about the history and manufacturing methods of dyeing, incense, kelp processing, mats, Japanese sweets, and Sakai May Carp Banners. The museum also hosts demonstrations and hands-on events.

[1st floor] TAKUMI SHOP (Knives and whetstones)
-We exhibit and sell a wide variety of knives, from those that are easy for the average user to use to those that will satisfy even the most professional chefs.
[1st floor] TAKUMI SHOP (Traditional products and Sakai products)
・In addition to knives, we also sell traditional industry products such as cutlery, dyeing and bleaching, kelp, and incense, as well as Japanese sweets, tea, soy sauce, and alcohol that are associated with Sakai.
[2nd floor] Sakai Cutlery Museum CUT
- The history and manufacturing process of Sakai cutlery are on display, as are knives for various purposes. The highlight is the "HIBANA" chandelier, which is made from materials from around 300 knives.

・Introducing the history and manufacturing methods of Sakai's ever-developing traditional industries, such as chusen dyeing, Japanese bleaching, incense, kelp processing, mats, Sakai May carp streamers, and Japanese sweets.
