Its subsidiary shrines are Otori Minamihi Shrine, Otori Kitahama Shrine, Otori Hagoromohama Shrine, and Otori Ise Shrine, and its subordinate shrine is a four-shrine combined shrine. The shrine is a Myojin Taisha listed in the Engishiki Jinmyocho (list of Shinto deities listed in the Engishiki), and is particularly well-known as a shrine for praying for disaster prevention and rain, attracting visitors from all over the country.
The main hall is called Otori-zukuri, and is a unique style of ancient form second only to Taisha-zukuri, with a gabled roof and a front entrance hall. It is believed to bring good luck, good fortune, protection from evil, and traffic safety.
