Enjoy Japanese culture with a mini tatami mat making experience
Why not experience Japanese culture in Sakai's historic district, where traditional Japanese elements remain? Try your hand at making a miniature tatami mat while listening to the stories of a tatami craftsman. Though it's miniature, the materials are the same as real tatami mats. Choose the color, material, and border (a unique Sakai burial mound motif) and pattern to create your own mini tatami mat.
The finished size is 18 x 25 cm.

10:30 Meet directly at Oe Tatami
・Choose the color and material of the mini tatami mat (rush or washi paper), as well as the pattern and color of the border.
・Making a mini tatami mat (finished using a large stapler)
・Your original mini tatami mat is complete! In addition to the experience, you can also see the professional tools used by the craftsmen in the workshop.
Around 11:30 After the experience, disband at Oe Tatami
