Special Opening of Osaka Castle's Yagura Tower - An exceptional historical experience at the "base for interception"
You can see the inside of the tower that protects the castle
This is a special opportunity to see the interiors of the important cultural properties Tamon Yagura, Senkan Yagura, and Inui Yagura, which are normally closed to the public.
Basic information
A "turret" is a "defensive base" in a castle. It is an important place to monitor the enemy and defend the castle grounds by attacking with arrows and matchlock guns.
For a limited time, Osaka Castle will be opening the interiors of the Tamon-yagura, Senkan-yagura, and Inui-yagura towers, all of which are designated as important cultural properties.
After the Siege of Osaka, which saw the downfall of the Toyotomi family, Osaka Castle was rebuilt by the Tokugawa shogunate and became the base for the shogunate's control of western Japan. By viewing the precious "turrets" that have survived numerous disasters to this day, you can experience the rich history of Osaka Castle.
