    Kamigata Ukiyo-e Museum

    Located on a corner lot on the west side of Hozenji Temple, this private art museum specializes in Kamigata ukiyo-e prints, primarily featuring portraits of actors such as Nakamura Utaemon III and Kataoka Nizaemon VII, popular actors from the Bunka and Bunsei periods of the late Edo period. The small four-story museum exhibits around 30 pieces from its collection, with themes changing every three months. Ukiyo-e production tools are also on display on the fourth floor, and classes are held where you can try the "printing" process of ukiyo-e production (reservations required). The first floor also houses a museum shop with a wide selection of ukiyo-e related items and various Japanese goods, which is free to visit.

    Sakai Tai-an is a restoration of the original appearance of the National Treasure Tai-an, the only surviving tea room created by Sen no Rikyu. Based on research findings from historical documents, modern artisans have restored the interior of Sakai Tai-an in Sakai, and visitors can enter the tea room to experience the space. You can also see Muichi-an, a restoration of Rikyu's four-and-a-half-tatami-mat tea room from the Kitano Grand Tea Ceremony.
