Tomotetsu Bus (route bus)
Tomonoura in Fukuyama City has prospered as "a port for waiting for the tide" since ancient times, and is a "Japan Heritage, Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings". Tomo Railway Co., Ltd. was founded in the Meiji period as a railway line connecting Fukuyama Station and Tomonoura. Currently, we have switched from a railway business to a bus business, and are familiar to everyone in the region as "Tomotetsu Bus", which helps commuting to work and school, group tours, etc., and pick-up and drop-off to schools and facilities. A bonnet bus made in 1958 runs as a regular sightseeing bus and charter operation in Fukuyama city.

Johyatoh
"Joyatoh is about 10m tall from the base in the sea to the top, and it is one of the largest stone night lights in Japan. “Joyato” means lighthouse that is a symbol of Tomonoura. And it is one of the largest existing Edo-era lanterns at port in Japan.

Fukuzenji Taichoro
The guest hall was built in the Genroku era (around 1690) of the Edo period and is designated as a national historic site. The view of the sea from the tatami room is breathtaking. Yi Bangon, a messenger from Korea praised this view as The most beautiful scenic spot east of Korea.

Onfunayado Iroha
The former residence of Uoya Manzo, built 220 years ago. A machiya used as a place of negotiation by Sakamoto Ryoma in the late Edo period was brought back to life in 2008 with the help of Director Hayao Miyazaki and other collaborators. During your stay in the machiya, you may find comfort in ways different from you normally do. Have an experience to remember at a machiya. The place offers dinner for you to enjoy when spending a night. Savor their original dishes centered around seasonal local ingredients, made by mixing Japanese and Western elements. Relax and savor such dishes in a Japanese room with tatami mats, where Ryoma held negotiations regarding the Irohamaru Incident.

Tomoshichikyo Ochi Ruins/Ota Residence
It is a group of buildings of the "former homei liquor store" which started brewing "homei liquor" from the beginning of the Edo period and was given the right to brew and sell it by the clan. It is designated as an "important cultural property of the country". Tomoshichikyo ochi Ruins is designated as a "prefectural historic site".

MASUYA, a gift shop featuring souvenirs and household goods unique to the Setouchi area
Masuya, a house of a merchant that ran a shipping business was where Sakamoto Ryoma stayed for several days when the Irohamaru Incident took place in 1867. The secret room in the attic is open to the public with its atmosphere of the end of Edo period (1603-1867) remaining unchanged. The gift shop on the first floor, MASUYA, sells original items with local motifs, such as towels and post cards, as well as items related to Fukuyama City and Tomonoura.
