Utsukushigahara Open-Air Museum: A stroll through an incredible collection of art
About 350 pieces of contemporary art sculptures are on permanent display on a field of about 132,231 sqm on the eastern slope of Mt. Ushibuse. Seeing sculptures in the great outdoors offers an entirely different way to art appreciation. Visitors can also enjoy paintings in the interior gallery as well as permanent exhibits of sculptures and events. Pets are also allowed to enjoy the outdoor exhibits.
Utsukushigahara Plateau Hiking
Take the shuttle bus of "Ougatou Hotel" where you will stay on the day. Check in to the hotel first. Slowly hike in the vast ranch landscape (about 1.5h). At Ougatou, the highest peak in Utsukushigahara, a 360-degree panorama spreads out. From Ogana, you can enjoy the view of Matsumotodaira and the spectacular Northern Alps.
