Cup Noodle Museum

The Cup Noodles Museum is an interactive food-education museum opened in Ikeda, the birthplace of instant ramen. Visitors can learn about the history of “Chicken Ramen” invented by Momofuku Ando, founder of Nissin Foods, as well as the behind-the-scenes story of the invention of “Cup Noodles,” which brought together innovative ideas. The museum conveys to children the importance of invention and discovery. Exhibits include Ando’s research shed used in developing Chicken Ramen, exhibition rooms, and the Cup Noodles Drama Theater, making it fun to learn how Chicken Ramen was created. The “Ramen Tunnel,” lined with about 800 package designs, is especially impressive. At the “My Cup Noodles Factory,” visitors can make their own one-of-a-kind Cup Noodles: after freely designing the cup with markers, you choose one soup from four options and select four toppings from twelve ingredients. The finished Cup Noodles can be packed in a bag and taken home.
