How do I get from Kansai International Airport to Osaka city?
The JR Kansai Airport Rapid and Nankai Railways are convenient train routes. There are also many limousine buses that run to Osaka city and other areas. The travel time from Kansai International Airport to Osaka city is approximately 40 to 60 minutes, but this time may vary slightly depending on road congestion and which train you take.
I'm planning to go from Tokyo to Osaka. What's the best way to get there?
The Shinkansen is convenient and fast. The Nozomi takes about two and a half hours one way. By air, JAL and ANA frequently fly to Osaka from Haneda Airport and Narita Airport. Osaka has two airports: Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport) and Kansai International Airport, both of which are convenient for accessing Osaka city. If you want to travel to Osaka city quickly, choose Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport) as your arrival point. It is closer to Osaka city than Kansai International Airport, and you can reach the city center in about 30 minutes by monorail, train, or limousine bus.
Where can I get tourist and hotel information?
Please visit one of the three tourist information centers operated by Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau. They are located in Umeda (JR Osaka Station), Namba, and Shin-Osaka, and have staff on hand who can speak English and other foreign languages.
What kind of Hotels is available in Osaka?

I only have a short time in Osaka, what should I see if I have enough time?
For first-time visitors to Osaka, a good place to start getting acquainted with the city in general is to visit Osaka Castle and the nearby Osaka Museum of History. Then, just a short walk from Namba and Shinsaibashi, you can enjoy dining, shopping, and entertainment in the Dotonbori area.
What are the weather and climate characteristics? What kind of clothing is recommended?
Osaka gets very humid in the summer. It's often said to be hotter than Tokyo. If you're visiting in midsummer, a sleeveless top or a T-shirt will suffice. However, in midwinter, be sure to take adequate precautions against the cold. February is the coldest month, and roads can freeze over even in the city. As for rain, the rainy season generally begins in early June and ends in late July. There is often intermittent rain during this period, so be sure to bring an umbrella or raincoat.
Are there any antique or flea markets in Osaka?
A large outdoor antique market is held at Shitennoji on the 21st and 22nd of every month. Connoisseurs gather early in the morning, so it's recommended to go early in the morning. Flea markets are also frequently held at Nanko and Expo Park.
Is it okay to smoke on the street?
Based on the "Osaka City Ordinance on the Prevention of Smoking on the Streets," smoking on the streets will be prohibited throughout Osaka City from Monday, January 27, 2025.
In areas where smoking on the street is prohibited, violators will be fined 1,000 yen.
Please try not to smoke as this may cause inconvenience or harm to others.

Universal Studios Japan and Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan are great theme parks for families with children. Kids Plaza Osaka, located inside the Kansai Television building in Ogimachi, Kita-ku, Osaka, is a small theme park that is bustling with local families on weekends, where children can learn while having fun.
