Nippon Genki! Osaka Genki Campaign

Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau (Chairman: Hiroshi Mizohata), a public interest incorporated foundation, has been working on the "Let's do our best, Japan! We are OSAKA" campaign as a counteroffensive against the COVID-19 pandemic, with the aim of reviving the Japanese economy starting from Osaka.
Starting in April 2022, this initiative will be rebranded as "Nippon Genki! Osaka Genki!" with a new slogan and a logo featuring rainbow colors that symbolize a bright future. Throughout the year, we will spread energy from Osaka and revitalize Japan.

The origin of the "Genki" in "Japan Genki" and "Osaka Genki" comes from the ancient Japanese word "genki," which was written as "減気" (genki), meaning that the severity of an illness is waning and recovery is on the way. It has come to mean a state of abundant energy and vitality, which is the source of activity. With an eye on the "With Corona" and "After Corona" eras, we will take the lead in delivering energy from Osaka to revive the Osaka and ultimately the Japanese economy.
Osaka, which was originally known as the "kitchen of Japan" during the Edo period, has a history of developing as the center of the Japanese economy, and now it will expand its activities to revitalize Japan.
Specifically, starting in Osaka, we will focus on three pillars: "Get energized!", "Spread energy!", and "Support energy!", and ask celebrities, athletes, Osaka residents, everyone who supports Osaka, foreigners, companies, etc., to act as "salespeople" to spread the message.
