Yutaka Fukumoto
Appointed in December 2018. Born in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. Joined the Hankyu Braves in 1968. In 1970, he became the first player to lead the league in stolen bases with 75, and continued to do so for 13 consecutive years. In 1972, he set a Japanese record with 106 stolen bases in a season. He was named to the Best Nine (10 times) and won the Golden Glove Award (12 times). In 1988, he recorded 2,543 hits and 1,065 stolen bases, and retired from active play. He holds the Japanese record for total stolen bases (which at the time also surpassed the MLB record), and is known as "Fukumoto of the World" and "The World's Stolen Base King." After retiring, he worked as a coach and is currently active primarily as a baseball commentator and analyst.
