Kanbukuro: Kurumi Mochi
Established in 1329, this shop was originally praised by Hideyoshi. Today's walnut cake is it's signature item.
This extremely old shop, established in 1329, is located a 5-6 min walk from Nanshuji. When Osaka Castle was under construction, Hideyoshi praised the great skills of the original shop owner Izumiya Tokuzaemon and gave the shop the trade name "Kanbukuro". One of thier signature sweets is the Walnut cake, a small rice cake covered with sweet green bean paste (¥360). In summer, a walnut cake covered with shaved ice is also available (¥360). The shop closes when all items are sold out, so make sure to be quick.
