Shinnyoji Temple (Nose)
The one site in Japan that enshrines the bones of the bodhisattva Nichiren. The home temple of the ancient Nose clan.
Founded by Nichiken, a Nichiren Buddhist monk. Its construction was funded by Yoritsugu Nose both for the sake of Shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa and as a temple for the Nose clan. Also called Kansai Minobu, it has been a renowned spiritual site in the Kinki area of western Japan since ancient times. It is also located near the peripheral temples of Mt. Myoken and Okunoin, and both connect with Shinnyoji to form an ascetic training route.
