Hachiman Shrine enshrines Emperor Ojin, Emperor Chuai, and Empress Jingu as deities, as well as Sumiyoshi Daigongen, and has been devoutly revered by the people of the Kawachi region for safe childbirth and protection from evil. Emperor Ojin is also seen as the patron deity of commerce and industry, and the parent deity of scholarship and the arts. The shrine buildings were restored by Minamoto no Yoritomo in 1196. The Chirijiraden Kondo Soshinyo portable shrine, donated at that time, has been designated a National Treasure. An autumn festival is held every year on September 15th, and the "Owatari" procession, in which the portable shrine is carried to the bank of the Emperor Ojin Tomb, is still practiced today.

The gilt bronze Maitreya Bodhisattva half-seated statue enshrined in the Hojo, which was designated a national treasure before the war and is now an important cultural property, and the wooden standing Jizo Bodhisattva statue enshrined in the Jizo Hall will be open to the public on April 17th in addition to the usual 18th of each month.

Temple associated with Prince Shotoku
This famous temple is home to the tombs of Prince Shotoku and three other people. The Takaya Renhihito gravestone will be on special display.

The Amida Buddha statue, known as the "Kawachi Great Buddha," is a gigantic statue of approximately 2.5 meters tall. It was designated a national treasure during the Meiji period (now an important cultural property following the implementation of the Cultural Properties Protection Act), and will be open to the public as part of the after-sales campaign, with no prior reservations required.

The three statues of the three Buddhas (Dainichi Nyorai, Fudo Myoo, and Gosanze Myoo) in the main hall, each over 2 meters tall, and the "Sun, Moon, and Four Seasons Landscape Screen," painted with highly original expression, will be specially exhibited.

A celadon phoenix-eared vase with the inscription "Mansei" will be on special display. It is believed to have been fired at the Longquan kiln in Zhejiang Province during the Southern Song dynasty and imported, and the "Kasen Utaawase" (Poetry Contest), a record of thirty works selected by Fujiwara no Kinto, is also on display.

Important cultural properties such as "The Painting of Manjushri Riding a Lion, with a Praise by Master Kokan" will be on display.

A festival with over 300 years of history and tradition
It began in the mid-Edo period when the lord of Kishiwada held an Inari festival to pray for a good harvest, and is a festival representing the Senshu region that boasts a history and tradition of over 300 years.

The Kannon Hall, which underwent major renovations in 2022, is known as the "Nailless Hall" because it was built without using nails. To commemorate its 1300th anniversary, the temple is holding events including an eye-opening ceremony for the statue of Gyoki Bodhisattva and an unveiling of its collection of Buddhist statues. It is a valuable opportunity to experience the story of this ancient temple that has walked hand in hand with the local community.
