Spring in Osaka: Special Feature: National Treasure Tour 2026

From Wednesday, April 1st to Tuesday, June 30th, 2026, 23 locations in Osaka Prefecture will be open to the public to view arts and crafts, buildings, and other items, including 18 national treasures and 61 important cultural properties.

    Tokujoji Temple's Important Cultural Property Amida Buddha Statue Opened to the Public

    Kawachi History / culture

    The Amida Buddha statue, known as the "Kawachi Great Buddha," is a gigantic statue of approximately 2.5 meters tall. It was designated a national treasure during the Meiji period (now an important cultural property following the implementation of the Cultural Properties Protection Act), and will be open to the public as part of the after-sales campaign, with no prior reservations required.

    Special exhibition of two national treasures at the Kuboso Memorial Museum of Art, Izumi City

    Quanzhou History / culture

    A celadon phoenix-eared vase with the inscription "Mansei" will be on special display. It is believed to have been fired at the Longquan kiln in Zhejiang Province during the Southern Song dynasty and imported, and the "Kasen Utaawase" (Poetry Contest), a record of thirty works selected by Fujiwara no Kinto, is also on display.
