EIFUKU-JI TEMPLE
Eifuku-ji Temple, which houses the tomb of Prince Shotoku (Isonaga Shrine) within its grounds, is a temple that, along with Shitennoji Temple and Horyuji Temple, is a central center of Prince Shotoku worship.
Popular for the "Taishi Mairi"Mahajira CeremonyThe event will be held on April 11th and 12th, commemorating the anniversary of Prince Shotoku's death. It is one of the cultural assets that make up the "Oldest National Highway," a Japan Heritage site that conveys a long history spanning 1,400 years.

Mahajira Ceremony
This is the largest memorial service at Eifuku-ji Temple, held every year on April 11th. The anniversary of Prince Shotoku's death, February 22nd, is converted to April 11th in the solar calendar.
It has a long history, and many documents from the Middle Ages remain that show that the ceremony was held on a grand scale, and the ancient faith in Prince Shotoku has been passed down.
On this day, a grand memorial service is held within the temple grounds, Homa offering is performed in front of the main hall by the head priest of Daigoji Temple's Sanboin temple, and rice cakes are scattered from the stone steps in front of Prince Shotoku's mausoleum.
SHITENNOJI
During the battle between Mononobe no Moriya and Soga no Umako, the prince, who sided with the Buddhist Soga clan, carved the statues of the Four Heavenly Kings to overcome the disadvantage.
He vowed, "After victory, I will build a temple to enshrine the Four Heavenly Kings and save all people," and indeed, Shitennoji was built after his victory.
An illustrated biography depicting the life of Prince Shotoku is displayed on the 22nd of every month.
A festival is held for two days every month, on the 21st (Daishi-e) and 22nd (Taishi-e), and not only are there memorial services held, but the temple grounds are also lined with many stalls selling antiques and other items.

Shoman-in Temple Aizen-do Hall
It is affectionately known as "Aizen-do" because Aizen Myoo, who is famous for finding good matches and marital harmony, is enshrined here. Every year on June 30th and July 1st and 2nd, theAizen Festival, one of Osaka's three major summer festivals,is held here.
Townscape around Shitennoji
The shopping street leading to Shitennoji is lined with shops selling Chinese herbal medicine, fans, pickles, and buns.

Horikoshi Shrine
It is said that Prince Shotoku built this shrine on Mt. Chausu in memory of his uncle, the 32nd Emperor Sushun, around the same time as Shitennoji was built, and it is one of the Seven Shrines of Shitennoji.
Daisho Shogunji Temple
It is one of the three Kawachi shrines associated with Prince Shotoku and is known as "Shimono Taishi." It is said to have been built to honor the Mukinoki tree that protected Prince Shotoku when he and Soga no Umako fought against Mononobe no Moriya over the acceptance of Buddhism.
Every year for two days during Obon, picture lanterns with pictures and songs written on them are hung in the main hall and precincts as a farewell fire offering service.Picture Lantern Festival (Mantoukai)The ceremony is held, and the temple grounds are enveloped in a fantastic, warm light.
Choeiji Temple
It is said that the temple was founded by Prince Shotoku, and the principal image of the temple, the Eleven-Headed Kannon Bodhisattva (an important cultural property), is said to have been carved by the prince himself, and is designated as a prefectural cultural property. The main hall was destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 1825.
Nonakaji Temple
Also known as "Naka no Taishi" (Middle Prince), it is one of the "Three Princes of Kawachi," along with "Kami no Taishi" (Upper Prince) at Eifuku-ji Temple in Taishi Town and "Shimo no Taishi" (Lower Prince) at Daisho Shogun-ji Temple in Yao City. The gilt bronze Maitreya Bodhisattva statue enshrined at Nonaka-ji Temple, an Important Cultural Property, is renowned as a representative Buddhist statue from the Hakuho period.

A grand memorial service will be held in front of Prince Shotoku's mausoleum for approximately one month. The general public is also welcome to attend.

Prince Shoto-kai
An event where the grounds of Eifuku-ji Temple, Saiho-in Temple, and Taishi Nagomi Square are decorated with lights.
This initiative was launched by local residents and is modeled after the Nara Toukae Festival, with the aim of creating an attractive town in Taishi.
The fantastical and mysterious world created by 10,000 lights touches people's hearts and attracts many participants.

Takeuchi Kaido Lighthouse Festival
This autumn event in Taishi Town illuminates the Takenouchi Kaido, said to be Japan's oldest official road (national highway) and designated a Japan Heritage Site in 2017, with the soft light of lanterns.
Ise lanterns and Jizo halls line the Takeuchi Kaido road.
It was started to preserve the lively atmosphere and charming atmosphere brought about by the culture of travel.
