& Island Nakanoshima
First, we had lunch at &ISLAND NAKANOSHIMA overlooking the Dojima River. This is the second branch of the popular Kitahama restaurant "&ISLAND," which opened in August 2020. Located on the riverside, where you can feel the water city of Osaka, this is an open cafe dining experience.
Lunch options include meat, salad, and focaccia salad plates, roast beef bowls, and pasta, all of which are colorful and sure to look great in photos. We especially recommend the salad plate lunch, which features a variety of colorful vegetables. Cafe time also offers photogenic pancakes and glass desserts, while dinner includes mixed-culture dishes such as paella, grilled meat, tapas, and churrasco.

Sukunahikona Shrine
Located in Doshomachi, a town of medicine, Sukunahikona Shrine is worshipped as the god of medicine. The approach, torii gate, and grounds are quietly located among the buildings. As the shrine enshrines a deity with ties to medicine, it attracts the faith of companies and people involved in the pharmaceutical industry, and there is also a medicine museum on the premises. In addition, as there are pharmaceutical companies for pets nearby, Shichi-Go-San ceremonies have been held here to pray for the recovery of pets and for their long and healthy lives.
The annual Shinno Festival is held every year for two days, on November 22nd and 23rd. It is said that the festival began during a cholera epidemic in 1822, which seems to overlap with the current era.

An urban oasis rich in nature
Nakanoshima Park
Walk to Nakanoshima Park.
Head east from Osaka City Central Public Hall in Nakanoshima Park and take a stroll with the Dojima River on your left and the Tosabori River on your right. The rose garden is home to around 300 varieties of roses, and you can stroll along the roughly 500-meter stretch while admiring the roses.
The lawn is beautifully maintained, making it a truly natural urban oasis. Along the way, you can enjoy the sights of central Osaka, including arch bridges, sightseeing boats going up and down the river, and office buildings.
At night, the lights reflected on the river surface are romantic. During the Christmas season, the "Water and Light Wonder Night in Nakanoshima" is held, where you can enjoy a German-inspired Christmas market and illuminations.

Located on the west side of Nakanoshima Park, this restaurant allows dogs (up to two small dogs per group) on its terrace. You can enjoy wood-fired pizza, pasta, and grilled meat dishes on the spacious terrace. Relax and enjoy the pleasant breeze from the river, located next to Osaka City Central Public Hall, one of Osaka's most iconic buildings.
We recommend the pizza, which is made from scratch with love by a craftsman. At the back of the shop, there is a large yellow wood-fired oven, and the pizzas made with carefully selected ingredients, including the classic Margherita, are delicious.

Enjoy the history of Osaka on a tour
Osaka Castle Park
Immerse yourself in Osaka's history as you walk around Osaka Castle Park. Why not take your dog for a walk through this special historic site? This park is a great place to enjoy nature, with cherry blossoms in the spring, vibrant greenery in the summer, and autumn leaves and rows of ginkgo trees in the fall. A full loop is approximately 4km long and takes about an hour. There are many entrances to the park, so choose a route that suits your mood and physical condition.
If you get tired from your walk, we recommend having tea with your dog on the terrace of RBaker, located in the southeast part of the park. RBaker serves special bread made with natural yeast.
By the way, Osaka Castle looks very large and close up, so if you want to take the best shot of your dog with Osaka Castle in the background, we recommend a wide-angle camera or a smartphone with a wide-angle mode.
