Dojima Avanza

The office building, with two basement floors and 23 floors above ground, houses a bookstore with one of the largest sales floor areas in the Kansai region, as well as restaurants and general stores. The Dojima Yakushido temple is located in the east plaza.
This 23-story office building with two basement floors and 23 aboveground floors houses a bookstore boasting one of the largest sales floors in the Kansai region, as well as restaurants and general merchandise stores. "Avanza" is derived from the Spanish word "avanzar" (to move forward), and is said to represent the building's determination to move forward vigorously into the 21st century. The facility was jointly developed by Nippon Life Insurance, Mainichi Shimbun, and Dai-ichi Life on the site of the former Mainichi Shimbun Osaka headquarters. Located in the Dojima business district, the building is surrounded by greenery, water, and light, creating a spacious atmosphere with approximately 7,000 square meters of open space that reflects the changing seasons. The Dojima Yakushido Hall, located in the plaza on the east side of the building, is an ancient shrine dating back to the reign of Empress Suiko, which is related to the origin of the name "Dojima." Upon completion, the building was redesigned with a mirrored glass and stone construction to harmonize with the modern building.
