A B2F to 23F office building with the Kansai's largest floor size book store, restaurants and sundry stores. "Avanza" comes from "avanzar (to advance)" in Spanish, displaying the determination to proceed boldly in the 21st century. It was originally a jointly developed facility by Nippon Life Insurance, Mainichi Newspapers and Dai-ichi Life Insurance on the former site of the Mainichi Newspapers Osaka Head Office Though located in the business town of Dojima, it is an airy space with approx. 7,000 sq meters of open space surrounded by green, water and light with a sense of seasonal changes. "Dojima Yakushido" in the east square is an old shrine dating back to the Emperor Suiko era related with the name of "Dojima". It was designed with mirror glass and rocks, in harmony with the modern building when it was built.
