“Osaka Castle Gozabune” the One and Only Golden Japanese Ship

Board a ship and get a close look at the stone walls through the transition of seasons!!

Take a tour of the inner moat of Osaka Castle on a gleaming golden Gozabune (Japanese-style boat). From the boat, you'll gaze up at Osaka Castle Museum, Japan's tallest stone walls, the talismanic stone face, and even the daimyo's seals, all up close for a truly impressive experience. Experience the profound history of Osaka as you experience this famous castle firsthand. On board, you'll be guided by the captain and accompanied by an audio CD. [About the boat] This boat is modeled after Hideyoshi's "Ho-o-maru," seen in the precious folding screen painting "Osaka in the Toyotomi Period" (owned by Eggenberg Castle, Austria), which depicts Osaka Castle and the castle town during the Toyotomi period. Gold leaf is used extensively on the boat. ◆Course: A course that circles the inner moat from near Osaka Castle Gokurakubashi Bridge (time required: approximately 20 minutes) ◆Business hours: 10:00-16:30 (last bus departure) ◆Local contact mobile phone number: 080-3764-3773 (only during business hours)
