Hanazono Rugby Stadium in Higashiosaka

Opened in 1929, this is the oldest rugby-specific stadium in Japan. It is famous as a "holy ground" for high school rugby, and hosts the national tournament every year. In 2019, it was also the venue for the Rugby World Cup 2019™ in Japan.

Opened in 1929 as Japan's first stadium dedicated to rugby, the stadium hosts the National High School Rugby Football Tournament every year, earning it the nickname "rugby's holy land." It also hosts matches featuring top players from Japan Rugby League One and international matches, attracting large numbers of spectators from around the country. After extensive renovations in 2018, the stadium was reborn as a venue with a capacity of approximately 27,000. The Hanazono Rugby Museum, located within the stadium, is open to spectators free of charge during matches. Inside the museum, there's a section where you can learn about the history of Hanazono Rugby Stadium, a highlight video of the National High School Rugby Tournament final, and valuable Japan national team jerseys on display.
