Ikawa Mandarin Orange Orchard
So sweet, and so very delicious—the oranges of this orchard are like no other.
The owners of the orchard here take care in managing the grounds out of a desire to grow oranges that bring joy to people. They say the secret to making delicious mandarin oranges is keeping the orchard in a way that doesn’t fight against but harmonizes with the characteristics of the land and the seasons. This is exactly the kind of artisanship made possible through knowledge and experience accumulated over long years of observing the natural environment. In 1999, the orchard won an Award of Excellence at the Osaka Prefecture and Kaizuka City Agricultural Show. From the slope going up to the hill where the orchard lies, visitors have a full view of Osaka Bay, and on a clear day you can see all the way out to Awaji Island and Mount Rokko.
