Inryoji Temple

The bloody ceiling tells the story.
Some of the materials used in the construction of the temple's main hall were old materials from Fushimi Momoyama Castle, the residence of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The ceiling is also known as the "blood ceiling," and remains of blood splatters, armor marks, handprints, and more. The two Osmanthus trees within the temple grounds were planted to commemorate the temple's founding (1661) and are designated as natural monuments by the prefecture.
