Kasuga Shrine (Tajiri Town)

The shrine enshrines Takemikazuchi no Mikoto, Iwanushi no Mikoto, and Amenokoyane no Mikoto.
During the Hoki era (770-781), a man named Yoshimi Osaji developed the area around Yoshiminosato, now the Nankai Main Line, and established a village. The Banzaiki records that Kasuga Daimyojin was enshrined at this time. Takemikazuchi-no-Mikoto, Iwanushi-no-Mikoto, and Amenokoyane-no-Mikoto are enshrined here. At the back of the village, there is a monument commemorating the founding of onion cultivation, a rare sight even in Japan.
