An observation plaza, the perfect spot from which to enjoy the sea breeze and the surrounding greenery, sits at the top of Maishima Shin-Yuhigaoka, a 25 meter high artificial hill. With a view Awaji Island, Kobe Port, and more, the nighttime panorama of twinkling city lights on distant shores lends the spot a romantic mood in the evenings. Maishima Shin-Yuhigaoka is also famous for its beautiful sunsets, and the paths of the setting sun in each season—the winter solstice (occurring around 12/22) and the summer solstice (occurring around 6/22)—are illustrated with the "path of winter solstice" and the "path of summer solstice." Visitors can also relax in the valley of the four seasons, the blossom-viewing plaza, or along a gazebo-dotted walking path.
