Maishima Sports Island
(Maishima Urban Auto Village Barbecue Garden)

Enjoy tennis, baseball, car camping, barbecues, and even try your hand at Osaka's new specialty, Nanbatsu ware.
It's about a 35-minute bus ride from Nishikujo. Crossing the Konohana Bridge, you'll arrive at Maishima, an artificial island floating in Osaka Bay. The vast island is home to a variety of sports facilities, including the practice field for professional soccer team Cerezo Osaka, the indoor Maishima Arena, a baseball stadium, and the Seaside Tennis Garden. The nearby Lodge Maishima, popular for accommodation and training, is also home to an auto campground and a barbecue garden. There are also other spots where you can experience the natural beauty of Osaka Bay, such as Shin-Yuhigaoka, a popular spot for watching the sunset, the soothing sea breeze and sounds of the waves on Maishima's rocks, and the Seaside Promenade. The Maishima Pottery Museum, the only one in the city with a full-scale climbing kiln and preserving Naniwazu ware, offers a research studio for those aiming to become professionals, a general studio for beginners, and a two-hour hand-building workshop.
