Minoh Park Insectarium

Experience the wonders of familiar insects in the nature-filled Mount Minoh.
The business days/hours are subject to change in order to prevent the spread of infection by COVID-19, the new coronavirus. Please refer to the official website for details.
Opened in 1953 within the naturally rich Meiji-no-Mori Minoh Quasi-National Park, it is a 15-minute walk up the waterfall path from Hankyu Minoh Station. The Minoh Park Insectarium displays a variety of insect specimens and live creatures, including familiar insects as well as never-before-seen, beautiful, cool, and strange insects, while the Butterfly Garden offers a delightful display of butterflies that can only be seen in Okinawa and other southwestern islands, flying all year round. On Sundays and holidays, events for interacting with insects that parents and children can enjoy are also held (irregularly scheduled). Another 30-minute walk up the waterfall path from the Insectarium will take you to Minoh Falls, a famous spot for viewing fresh greenery and autumn foliage.
