Mount Ikoma

Mount Ikoma (642m above sea level), located north of Kongo-Ikoma-Kisen Quasi-National Park, has a long history as a mountain of great importance for transportation and strategy, bordering Yamato and Namba. Today, it is popular for its panoramic views, which stretch all the way to the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and Kansai International Airport. In addition to the Osaka Prefectural Forest that spreads out halfway up the mountain, visitors can enjoy the view from the Ikomayama Amusement Park at the summit, the Hanna Expressway that connects Osaka and Nara, and the Shigi-Ikoma Skyline, a 20.9km toll road that stretches from the top of Mount Ikoma to Mount Shigi. The night view, in particular, is like a jewel box. In spring, rows of cherry blossoms create a beautiful tunnel. Hiking trails also offer opportunities to observe a variety of plants, birds, and insects.
