Nishikinohama Shellfish Digging Area

How about going clamming in the pleasant spring sea breeze? Spend the day playing at sea and enjoying the famous shellfish rice and shellfish hotpot of Niirohama.
Nishikinohama Beach Kaizuka City is a spacious beach stretching approximately 1 km, a 10-minute walk from Nishikinohama Station on the Nankai Main Line of the Nankai Electric Railway. Clam digging opens annually between April and June, attracting many families. At this clam digging site, visitors pay an entrance fee (¥1,700 for adults and ¥850 for children) to enter the tidal flats and are allowed to take home up to 600g of shellfish (adults) and 300g (children). Rakes and other equipment are also available for rental. Enjoy the pleasant spring sea breeze, gather shellfish, and have fun in the ocean. Enjoy Nishikinohama's specialty shellfish rice and shellfish hotpot. The best time to dig varies depending on the tide, so we recommend checking the "Clam Digging Calendar" published by the Nishikinohama Tourist Association, the Fifth Regional Coast Guard Headquarters Marine Information Department, Osaka Prefecture, and other organizations before heading out.
