okami Shrine is located just across the Igami Bridge with its red railings over the Kashii River. The enshrined deity, Takaokami, is the goddess of rain and has long been known as the "God of Rain" and "Tenjin of Buto," and has been cherished as the water source deity for farmers living in the Kashii River basin. The main hall, built in 1442 (the second year of the Kakitsu era), is a one-bay Kasuga-style building with a cypress bark roof and a rare style with karahafu gables on the front eaves. It is decorated with various carvings known as frog legs and wooden noses, and its vivid coloring gives it a distinctive Muromachi period feel. It is the oldest Kasuga-style building in Osaka Prefecture and has been designated an Important Cultural Property.
