Forest of Osaka (Chihaya park)
A nature park located in the highest altitude area of Osaka, where visitors can feel the rich nature of the four seasons from the new greenery of spring to the ice trees of winter
A nature park (total 9 locations in prefecture) that has forests and facilities maintained by the Osaka government to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the prefecture and for visitors to enjoy the rich nature of Kongo-Ikoma-Kisen Quasi-National Park. At an altitude of 1,125 meters near the summit of Mount Kongo, it is located in one of the highest altitude areas of the prefecture. Not only does it have a fantastic view, but visitors can enjoy the park throughout the year, such as the greenery of spring, as a summer retreat, the autumn leaves, and the ice trees of winter. At the Chihaya Nature and Astronomy Museum inside the park, visitors can enjoy stargazing and nature learning in addition to outdoor activities and cooking at the campsite or BBQ area.

- (1) April through September: 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM (weekdays), 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (weekends and national holidays)
(2) October and November: 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM
(3) December and from January through March: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM However, the BBQ area can only be used until 3:30 PM.

- Tuesdays and New Year’s holidays from December 29th through January 4th (open everyday during the summer camp season) Open if a Tuesday is a national holiday, but closed on the following day. The office and BBQ facility are not available for use, but admission into the park is free. [Summer Camp Season] Third Saturday of July - Fourth Sunday of August (lodging is available until the previous day on Saturday)

- Get off at Kawachinagano Station on either the Nankai Koya Line or the Kintetsu Nagano Line. Board the Nankai Bus towards “Kongosan-Ropeway-mae” and get off at the last stop. About a 60-minute walk on the hiking trail.*Operation of the Mount Kongo Ropeway is currently suspended
