Forest of Osaka (Hoshida park)
A nature park where you can enjoy a stroll in the air on the “Star Swing,” the largest suspension bridge of Japan at a length of 280 meters and a height of 50 meters
A nature park (total 9 locations in prefecture) that has forests and facilities maintained by the Osaka government to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the prefecture and for visitors to enjoy the rich nature of Kongo-Ikoma-Kisen Quasi-National Park. At Hoshida park in Katano City, visitors can enjoy the changing seasons of the forests from sprouting buds to fresh greenery, from autumn to fallen leaves, or enjoy a stroll in the air on the “Star Swing (a 280 meter long suspension bridge)” or the “forest railway-like pedestrian bridge.” Additionally, the “Climbing Wall (16.5 meters high with a fixed 3-sided overhang wall)” was the venue for climbing during the 1997 Namihaya National Sports Festival of Japan, and continues to attract users from across the Kinki region. Furthermore, inside the park are various hiking trails with many large stones scattered about such as the “Takerugamine” which legend says that the sun goddess's grandson's descended to earth, as well as places to bask in the forest greenery and for bird watching.
