Pichipichi Beach (Hakotsukuri Beach)
An artificial beach with great view of the blue ocean and white sand. Heated battles will take place again on the beach volleyball court.
A 15-minute walk from the Hakotsukuri Station of the Nankai Main Line, in southern part of Osaka Prefecture. Hakotsukuri Beach is an artificial beach known and loved by the nickname Pichipichi Beach, with beautiful scenery of the blue ocean and white sand. On clear days, the Awaji Island, the Kansai International Airport and the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge can be viewed. The beach is open every year from July 1st to August 31st. It is 700 meters in length and 80 meters in depth, with barbeque area and beach volleyball courts, seaside clubhouses and shower facilities, and is visited by many families and groups every year. In early August, the National Junior Boys Beach Volleyball Tournament is held as a part of the Osaka (Hannan) Marine Festival, where high school boys from all over Japan gather for heated competitions.
