This is a rakugo theater located on the north side of the grounds of Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, famous for its Tenjin Festival. There used to be as many as eight yose theaters in the area around Osaka Tenmangu Shrine, but they disappeared one after another after the war. The Kamigata Rakugo Association and local shopping districts began fundraising to revive the theater, aiming to preserve and develop performing arts culture and revitalize the area. With donations from local residents, it reopened in 2006 after a 60-year hiatus. There are matinee performances every day from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, and evening performances from 6:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A variety of rakugo artists, from veterans to young performers, also perform non-rakugo acts such as magic tricks, manzai comedy, and daikagura. The evening solo performances and school reunions are also fun. There are also programs for schools, such as the "Kamigata Rakugo Experience Course."
