Mount Ikedama Reienji Temple

Fujisawa Nankaku is the man who named Tsutenkaku Tower in Dotonbori and the drug Nintan. There is also the grave of Hara Roryu, one of the three great doctors of Naniwa at the time, alongside Ogata Koan and Saito Hosaku.
Founded in 1623 by the monk Gishun, the temple was established as the family temple of the Inagaki clan, feudal lords of Shima Province. It was relocated from Sanadayama to its current location in 1632. During the Edo period, it was a famous cherry blossom spot known as the Reien Higan Sakura, and even today, the area is filled with cherry trees. The temple grounds are home to the graves of many famous figures, including Fujisawa Toho, founder of the Hakuen Shoin school; Nankaku, the creator of names like "Tsutenkaku Tower" and "Jintan"; Nabei Katsuyuki, a painter representing Osaka during the Showa period; Sagihide (real name: Toyonaga Totora), a leading Shinshinto swordsmith who forged swords for the Tosa domain; Hara Roryu, one of Osaka's three greatest doctors; the Nishimura family, home of Uncle Rikuro; and the Maeda family of Super Tamade. Many people visit the temple throughout the year.
