Yamaguchi Family Residence

It is one of the few townhouses from the early Edo period in Japan and is a national important cultural property.
The Yamaguchi family residence is a valuable building that was built in the early Edo period, shortly after the town of Sakai was burned down in the Battle of Osaka, and is one of the few remaining townhouses. It has been designated an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
During the late Edo period, storehouses and tatami rooms were added, and the current layout was completed.
The garden is centered around a large 200-year-old hazel tree, creating a dignified atmosphere in the quiet residential area.
