Renovation work on Satsukiyama Zoo will begin this year.
Due to the construction work, temporary animal enclosures will be built within the zoo and the animals will be moved to these temporary enclosures.
Satsukiyama Zoo will be temporarily closed as follows:
Closure date: From Saturday, June 1, 2024
Regarding partial opening of the zoo in temporary animal enclosures and holding events, we will consider this while taking into consideration the health of the animals.

Satsukiyama Zoo is located within Ikeda City's Satsukiyama Park. The park is located at the foot of a relatively easy-to-access mountain about 315 meters high (near the Hinomaru Observatory), and is popular with many people as a casual leisure spot for hiking, picnics, cherry blossom viewing, autumn foliage viewing, and other activities. Nearby, the park is also home to facilities such as Satsukiyama Gymnasium (with a swimming pool), Urban Greening Botanical Garden, Ikeda Castle Ruins Park, and the Children's Cultural Center (with a planetarium), as well as the Inagawa River, making it an ideal environment for leisure activities.
Satsukiyama Zoo is located in the midst of all this, and is visited by many people, including Ikeda residents and those from neighboring cities and towns.Please come and visit with your family or friends. You will surely enjoy a relaxing and leisurely day.
