Senbayashi shopping street

The unique theme song will put a smile on your face! This shopping street, which boasts a wide variety of stores and low prices, is always bustling.

This shopping street is located in Osaka City's Asahi Ward. It stretches for approximately 700 meters between Senbayashi Station on the Keihan Electric Railway and Senbayashi-Omiya Station on the Tanimachi Subway Line. After the war, Daiei's first store, Shufu no Mise Daiei, opened here, and it was dubbed "Japan's cheapest shopping street." The downtown atmosphere remains, and the shopping street's original theme song, "One, ten, hundred, one, Senbayashi, a friendly town..." sung by the Duke Aces, resonates throughout the arcade 24/7. Having escaped war damage, the street is lined with approximately 200 shops, arranged in row houses in the same prewar style as before, selling everything from fresh produce to food, household goods, and restaurants. The area is also home to the Senbayashi Living Ale Hall, formed by the merger of a public market and a municipal market, and is bustling with shoppers all day long.
