Basic information
The park stretches along the coast in southern Osaka prefecture, straddling Hannan City and Misaki Town, adjacent to Hakotsukuri's Pichipichi Beach and Tanowa's Tokimeki Beach. Named Satoumi for "Sato," alluding to life in a traditional town by the sea, and "Umi" referring to the sea itself, the park serves as the main site for the Senshu region's mid-summer festival, the Osaka Marine Festival. The park has a capacity of 3,000 people and is home to Shiosai Beach Volleyball, the country's only permanent beach volleyball court. It also contains Iruka or Dolphin Park, with two roller slides and a two-story playground, as well as Tako or Octopus Park with an octopus slide, Tarzan rope swing, and more. Facilities also include a workout room and meeting rooms. In April of 2017, the Shiosai Leisure and Learning Hall and Satoumi Isohama were completed, allowing people of all ages an opportunity to enjoy interacting with sea life.
