Shinaga Shrine
Because there are eight gods enshrined here, the shrine is also called Hassha Daimyojin (eight shrines).
Because there are eight gods enshrined here, the shrine is also called Hassha Daimyojin (eight shrines). There's a spring behind the shrine, and legend has it that a group of blacksmiths known as the Taema used this water to temper their swords. There's also a small helmet said to have been used by Empress Jingu. Mikoshi and danjiri floats can be observed at the annual summer festival. The danjiri come from five towns, with each town contributing one float. Youths pull the mikoshi and danjiri in time with the lively festival music. Meanwhile, Noh plays and taiko drum performances take place at the shrine.
