Taekwondo

Taekwondo, a sport, martial art, and combat sport, was born in Korea in 1955. It is now popular in over 200 countries worldwide, with an estimated 80 million participants. It became an official sport at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, where Osaka native Yoriko Okamoto won a bronze medal in the women's 67kg class. In 2011, Okamoto founded Dream Taekwondo School in her hometown of Osaka, where she continues to actively teach and promote the sport. Taekwondo combines the spirit of martial arts with the competitive characteristics of sport, making it a unique sport suitable for a variety of goals. Dream Taekwondo School actively incorporates new taekwondo disciplines, such as kyolgi (battle) and poomsae (forms), as well as poomsae freestyle, which incorporates acrobatic moves set to music. Anyone, from children to seniors, can enjoy taekwondo, so give it a try!
