Taishi Onsen

Relax and soothe your travel fatigue in the quiet natural hot springs nestled in the valleys of Mt. Nijo.

Taishi Onsen is a natural hot spring located in Taishi Town, which has a strong connection to Prince Shotoku. It's a popular hot spring where visitors to the numerous historical sites in the area, such as Eifuku-ji Temple, where Prince Shotoku's tomb was built, Prince Shotoku's mausoleum where his mother and others are buried, and the tomb of Prince Shotoku's father, Emperor Yomei, stop by to soothe their fatigue after hiking. The hot springs include an open-air cypress bath overlooking the lush green mountains, as well as a large rock bath. The spring water is simple and said to be effective for rheumatism, neurosis, and fatigue recovery. The hotel offers relaxing guest rooms built in the traditional Sukiya style, where guests can stay overnight, and also serves meals such as seasonal kaiseki cuisine.
