Taishi Onsen is a natural hot spring located in Taishi Town, which is associated with Prince Shotoku. It is a popular hot spring where people visiting the many historical sites scattered around the area, such as Eifuku-ji Temple, known as the temple where Prince Shotoku built his own tomb during his lifetime, Taishi Gobyo (Prince Shotoku's mausoleum), and the tomb of his father, Emperor Yomei, or hikers stop by to soothe their fatigue. The hot spring has an open-air bath made of cypress wood and a large rock bath overlooking the lush green mountains. The spring water is a simple spring and is said to be effective for rheumatism, neurosis, and fatigue recovery.
