Himono Shrine Tanabata Festival


Located at the birthplace of the Tanabata legend, Himemono Shrine is said to be the palace of Orihime, and enshrines the deity Amaterasu Hatanohime. The Tanabata Festival is a major festival representing Katano City, attracting many visitors.

Himemono Shrine is said to be the palace of Orihime, enshrining the deity Amatenahimehime, at the birthplace of the Tanabata legend. During the festival, around 80 stalls are lined up at the venue, and the sight of 35 bamboo stalks stretching about 8 meters with paper strips of five different colors attached to them is spectacular. Let's dream about the legend of Orihime and Hikoboshi on Tanabata Day, which comes once a year!
