Tado Taisha Shrine

Tado Taisha is a shrine situated in lush nature at the foot of Mount Tado in the northern part of historic Ise Province. Long revered as the chief guardian deity of the northern Ise region and believed to bestow blessings such as household safety, business prosperity, and protection from misfortune, this shrine is also a popular destination for life-milestone ceremonies such as Shichi-Go-San.

Hinode

Kuwana flourished as a prosperous castle town of the Matsudaira clan and the 42nd post town on the old Tokaido Highway. Near Kyuka Park and the site of Shichiri-no-Watashi Remains, which evoke that bygone era, Hinode is a historic restaurant where you can savor kaiseki (Japanese course dining) highlighting seasonal ingredients, local clam dishes unique to Kuwana, and uosuki hot pot brimming with seafood such as domestic Ise lobster.

Yasunaga Mochi (Nagamochiya Rouho)

Nagamochiya Rouho was founded in the early Edo period as Yasunagaya in the Yasunaga area of Kuwana, which flourished as one of the premier post towns on the Tokaido Highway, and has sold Yasunaga Mochi as a local specialty ever since. The shop still uses the original techniques, using only glutinous rice and azuki beans made in Japan with no additives, which is why it remains loved by so many.
