The first floor of Moritosha features a cafe, a shop, and an auditorium, all also open to non-staying guests. The cafe serves a menu rich of local flavors, made with regional ingredients and presented in carefully selected folk craft mingei tableware. The shop offers a curated selection of beautiful folk craft pieces that brighten daily life, such as Okinawan yachimun pottery and antique porcelain plates, alongside local specialty products.

Johana Hikiyama Kaikan
Located in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture, the Johana Hikiyama Kaikan is home to a permanent exhibition of gorgeously decorated Hikiyama and Iori-yatai floats. The beautifully crafted floats, featuring traditional Johana-nuri lacquering, are showcased inside the museum with dramatic lighting and melancholic melodies of Iori-uta folk songs, creating an emotionally rich ambiance resembling the Johana Hikiyama Matsuri Festival night.

Matsui Silk Weaving (Showroom Tour & Shopping)
Founded in 1877, Matsui Silk Weaving is a long-established weaving shop in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture, that produces traditional Johana silk and shike-kinu textured silk paper. In addition to high-quality silk fabrics used for fusuma sliding doors and byobu folding screens, the mill takes pride in own shike-kinu silk paper, which highlights silk's unique texture and luster, as well as a wide range of modern products that blend seamlessly into everyday life, such as scarves, face masks, and parasols.

Johana Betsuin Zentoku-ji Temple
Johana Betsuin Zentoku-ji Temple was founded about 530 years ago by Rennyo Shonin, and is a historic temple deeply connected to the Kaga Domain. In collaboration with Nanto City Tourism Association, the temple offers a nenju bracelet (Buddhist prayer beads) making experience using mukuroji soapberry seeds. Set in the serene onaibutsu altar room, this hands-on activity allows visitors to craft their own prayer beads, believed to offer protection from evil and misfortune—while enjoying a peaceful, meditative time away from the everyday.

Moritosha at Zentoku-ji Temple
Originally designed by Keiichi Yasukawa, the beloved disciple of Soetsu Yanagi, this former training hall has been transformed into Moritosha—an ambiance infused with the spirit of mingei folk craft. The hotel on the second floor features six guest rooms, each adorned with unique mingei pieces, offering guests a glimpse into the beauty of everyday life. The first floor houses a cafe, a shop, and a lecture hall. Enjoy a stay that enriches both heart and lifestyle, while experiencing dotoku—the spiritual culture nurtured in Tonami.
